The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development highlights the success of StarLabs and Digital School

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development highlights the success of StarLabs and Digital School Hana Qerimi, co-founder and CEO of StarLabs and Digital School, has been recognized as one of the young entrepreneurs in the Western Balkans shaping the future of the information technology sector, and more especially, application development, by offering outside services to global markets. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has published an article on Saturday 12 August, the day the world marked International Youth Day, recognizing the limitless potential and importance of young people in shaping a brighter future. Hana shared the inspiring story and noted the crucial help she received from the EBRD’s Youth in Business program. “We are so grateful for the support we have received from the EBRD’s Youth in Business programme – from helping with financing for a franchising consultant, through attaining certifications in international standards to improving our managerial processes, we have raised our credibility both inside and outside the country as well as improved the customer service delivery for our clients”, said Hana. The journey has not been easy for Hana, but having self-belief has been vital to her success. “At the start, I had to do many tasks that I did not enjoy, requiring me to overcome my anxieties and insecurities. I felt I had to conceal these feelings and present myself as strong and confident to others. It was challenging, but I knew that it was necessary to show strength and confidence as a leader in the business. Looking back, it feels like we were selling diamonds without having anything in our hands,” she said. Read the full story in the EBRD article here. The international success of the StarLabs and Digital School, part of President Osmani’s inspiring speech at the European Parliament

The international success of the StarLabs and Digital School, part of President Osmani’s inspiring speech at the European Parliament The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, during her speech at the plenary session of the European Parliament, highlighted the successes of both local companies, StarLabs and Digital School, which today operate beyond the borders of Kosovo.   Osmani emphasized the challenges faced by the co-founder of the StarLabs and Digital School, Hana Qerimi, who was part of the representative delegation in the European Parliament, towards the development of her businesses, helping society and our country to be a leader in the region as a technology center.   President Osmani’s historic speech at the European Parliament, including the inspiring story of the StarLabs and Digital School:  And as I speak of a better future, I can’t help but think of Hana Qerimi, who is also accompanying me in this visit. She is the co-founder of Digital School and StarLabs, which started as two small companies in our capital, Prishtina, initially with just two people, her and her husband.    Today, their startups have grown into global brand names with 500 locations around the world. Like so many other businesses in this sector, they are making Kosovo a leader in the region as a tech hub. As the company’s success started to cross borders and oceans, Hana has had to overcome near impossible challenges along the way due to onerous and bureaucratic processes.    She would often miss the taste of her success and landing her next big opportunity as her EU issued visas would expire before she could even travel. And she would have to apply and reapply multiple times per year.   For years, it was you, this parliament that has been fighting together with the people of Kosovo for the cause of visa liberalization. I want to thank you all for your vocal support and for the most recent vote that gave Hana and other brilliant and ambitious young people in my country the chance to thrive just like their peers in their union. StarLabs has a dedicated team of more than 200 skilled engineers to create exceptional software experiences.   Our primary goal is to keep cultivating cohesive teams that specialize in delivering innovative technological solutions for our valued clients.  Related Articles StarLabs hosted 53 companies from Germany StarLabs hosted 53 companies from Germany A delegation of 53 businesses from Germany, visited Kosovo during April, for a three-day visit. Tune in as Hana Qerimi and Darsej Rizaj at Radio Urban FM Chronicles the Triumphs of StarLabs and the Digital School

Tune in as Hana Qerimi and Darsej Rizaj at Radio Urban FM Chronicles the Triumphs of StarLabs and the Digital School Hana Qerimi and Darsej Rizaj, co-founders and leaders of the Digital School and StarLabs, were special guests on Radio Urban FM’s Terminal Podcast, where they shared with listeners the inspiring stories of the two companies, starting with their earliest days, education of children from the age of 8 to 18 years old in the field of programming, support and employment of programmers, influence in this sector at the local level, and up to worldwide success. Initially, they described the first steps toward their creation of the Digital School seven years ago, which began with a concept to create a course for children and young people where they would learn programming languages, an idea that began with a budget from their savings and the assistance of family members, always with the goal of developing a school of the greatest possible size. “At the time, we saw a great lack of programmers in Kosovo, so our idea was to create a school where children of  early ages could learn about technology and programming, so we began with awareness campaigns about learning programming, and the first students began to show successful results with the development of their applications,” Hana explained. Like every entrepreneurial journey, Hana and Darsej also experienced many obstacles during their path, but the two enthusiastic young individuals continued with their energy and enthusiasm to develop two significant companies. One of the key success factors for Digital School and StarLabs was the ability to develop a strong and committed workforce, which allowed their company to be innovative and give excellent solutions to clients. Darsej moved on to discuss StarLabs’ current customers and the services we offer in software development, software testing, customer support, and technical support. “We work with many countries with StarLabs, including the main partner we have for the Digital School, which is Berlitz. As StarLabs, we provide IT services, we assist them in all their needs. Berlitz is in over 500 locations, we develop websites and the products they have. We also have clients in America who deal with the production of jewelry. We also have clients in Europe for event management, which are part of the gaming industry and other technologies.” During the discussion, it was also pointed out the success story of Digital School and StarLabs in the European Parliament that was mentioned by the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, which highlighted our worldwide success from a local startup into a global brand with over 500 locations across the world and also contributed to making Kosova a leader in the region in the technology area. To build great software experiences, StarLabs has a dedicated staff of more than 200 professional engineers.  Our major objective is to continue to build solid teams that specialize in providing creative technical solutions to our valued clients.
